Walk & Talk Therapy in Angmering
Sometimes, a different kind of space is needed. Away from the therapy room, walking side-by-side can offer a calmer, more spacious way to begin.
There are times when sitting across from someone in a room can feel too much. Being outdoors, in a more open and natural setting, can make it easier to settle, reflect, and begin to talk.
Walk & Talk Therapy combines traditional counselling with gentle movement in a natural environment. We walk together at a comfortable pace, allowing conversation to unfold more naturally, without pressure.
Sessions begin from The Lanes Health Club, offering access to peaceful, green surroundings that support reflection and calm.
How Walk & Talk Therapy can help
Walking alongside someone, rather than sitting opposite, can create a different kind of ease. Without the intensity of direct eye contact, it can feel simpler to talk about what’s on your mind.
This way of working can gently support you to:
Feel less self-conscious when speaking
Ease feelings of anxiety through movement
Think more clearly and gain perspective
Feel more grounded and present
Connect more comfortably with your thoughts and emotions
Being outdoors can also bring a sense of space — both physically and internally — allowing things to emerge at their own pace.
What to expect
We will meet at our agreed starting point and walk at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no expectation to keep moving throughout — we can pause or adjust the pace as needed.
Sessions remain confidential and follow the same ethical framework as traditional counselling, with care taken to maintain privacy while outdoors.
Walk & Talk Therapy can offer a flexible and supportive alternative, whether you are new to counselling or returning to it.
My approach
I am a BACP registered counsellor, offering Walk & Talk sessions to adults in West Sussex. My approach is integrative, with a strong psychodynamic foundation, allowing our work to be shaped around your individual needs rather than following a fixed model.
I aim to offer a calm, grounded space where you feel at ease, able to talk openly, and supported in making sense of your experience.
Is this right for you?
Walk & Talk Therapy may suit you if you:
Feel more comfortable side-by-side rather than face-to-face
Enjoy being outdoors or find nature calming
Find it difficult to sit still or feel more at ease when moving
Would prefer a more relaxed and informal setting
It may be less suitable if you would prefer complete privacy indoors or have mobility concerns.
